Thanks again to each of you who have participated in the Tudors Supporters Club’s budget boosting initiative that we have named “Beard Tax”. Just to remind you all, there is a page on the TSC website which provides further details about the scheme –
Some of you have paid lump-sums up front, many of you have set up recurring BACS or PayPal accounts so thank you all for making it so easy for me to organise. For those that are paying monthly by cash/cheque, November’s payment is due and as we’re at home on Tuesday night (and as I’m doing some TSC banking on Wednesday…) it’d be a great help if you could find me or Kevin Patterson and pay. If you would prefer, you can place your payment in an envelope marked Beard Tax with your name and post in to the TSC post box in the Vauxhall Road bar, located on the wall next to the TSC noticeboard. Our only scheduled home game for December is on Boxing Day – so please bear this in mind when considering how/when you’d pay December’s contribution.
Remember, there is no obligation to continue your involvement in this scheme if you want to withdraw from it and cease contributing, so please let me know if this is the case.
Whilst the team is going through a challenging time at the moment with an inconsistent run of form, our Beard Tax is at least sponsoring the player who is scoring goals for Hemel. In recognition of the Fans efforts in sponsoring a player, Tudors Chairman Dave Boggins has once again donated a quantity of Football Manager 2017 games to the TSC (the club receive them annually due to featuring in the game) for us to use to raise funds and subsidise TSC away travel. If all goes to plan, we will be able to run a significantly subsidised fans coach to Dagenham for the next round of the FA Trophy.
The only other matter is that we still need to address is that we need two more willing volunteers (we’ve had one so far) to form the Beard Tax sub-committee, who ideally wont already be committee members of the TSC or of Hemel Hempstead Town FC. This wont be too much of a burden, I promise, but the TSC needs to be accountable for how your cash is banked and spent – so the sub-committee will be called upon every now and then to represent the rest of the fans if any decisions need to be made about how the scheme is managed. Where possible this will be done by email, in exceptional circumstances we may need to get together for a quick chat on a match day. If you’re interested, then please email
