Hemel Hempstead Town captain Jordan Parkes, who is sponsored by the Tudors Supporters Club, made his 200th appearance for our team in last weekend’s 1-1 draw at Havant & Waterlooville. To mark the occasion, the TSC has presented Jordan with a personalised and framed Hemel shirt featuring “200”; our photo features Jordan receiving the momentum from TSC committee member Marc Willmore.
Jordan made his debut for Hemel in the 2012/13 season, in a 6-1 home win against Bedworth United on 13th October 2012 – he opened his goal scoring account in this game too, marking his debut with two goals (he notched in each of his next two games as well!). In total, Jordan has scored 86 goals for The Tudors, including six hat-tricks and some memorable goals, with some worldys from set-pieces.
The Tudors were led to the Southern League Premier Division championship by captain Parkes in 2013/14 and he also wore the armband for our club record FA Cup and FA Trophy runs in 2014/15 – Jordan went to to score an amazing 30 goals from midfield in that season.
A spell at Ebbsfleet followed but Jordan returned to Vauxhall Road in October 2016, soon regained the captians armband and has gone on to add 20 goals to his Tudors account.
Jordan’s Tudors career in stats:
200 games (88 starts, 12 appearances as a substitute)
- 157 league (75 Southern League Premier Division, 82 National League South)
- 18 FA Cup ties
- 9 FA Trophy ties
- 10 Herts Senior Cup
- 1 Herts Charity Cup
- 2 St Mary’s Cup
- 3 Southern League Cup
- 102 away games, 96 at Vauxhall Road, 2 neutral (both at the Hertfordshire FA’s County Ground in Letchworth).
- Jordan has played in 108 wins, 39 draws, 53 defeats for Hemel.
87 goals, including 6 hat-tricks.
Jordan’s next milestone will be overtaking former teammate Danny May, who achieved an impressive 224 appearances between 2010 and 2014. Once Danny’s record is beaten, Jordan faces another couple of seasons at Vauxhall Road if he’s to match the next player on the list – John Pedder – who made 306 appearances during three spells at Hemel during the late 1980’s, 1990’s and early 2000’s.
