SUCCESSFUL RETURN OF OUR KICKABOUT AND BOOKING FOR NEXT WEEK NOW ACTIVE

Community Kickabout is a small-sided football session for Over 30’s and is part of our fitness initiative, organised by the TSC in partnership with Hemel Hempstead Town FC and supported by a Community Grant from Dacorum Borough Council. After a break in our sessions due to Lockdown2, it was good to be back at Vauxhall Road on Monday night for the return of our Over 30’s football sessions. Thanks to everyone who participated, especially those who joined the stand-by list and were available to fill in for late withdrawals; apologies to those who registered for the stand-by list but didn’t get the opportunity to play this week – this was our best attended session so far and it was great to see that the return of our sessions was so eagerly anticipated. We’re also very thankful to Scott Daly for helping out by getting the players properly warmed up ahead of what was a great game of football. We’re delighted to announce that we’ve secured the long term booking of the facility at Vauxhall Road for at least the next year, so our popular sessions will continue and hopefully grow. Booking is now active for next weeks session, at 9pm on Monday 14th December 2020, payment must be made online in order to secure your place.

Our sessions take place on the main pitch at Hemel Hempstead Town FC, Vauxhall Road, which is FIFA Pro standard all-weather artificial grass; our matches are an easy, affordable and friendly opportunity for anyone to get active (not just TSC members or Hemel FC fans). The emphasis on these sessions is having fun! If this initiative is to succeed, then participants need to enjoy our sessions; in turn we’ll hopefully see continued participation and you’ll see an improvement in fitness.

The session is for people aged over 30 because cardiovascular disease in people aged between 30 and 74 in Dacorum is statistically significantly higher than the averages for England and Hertfordshire and around 50,000 residents aged 50 and above suffer from a long-term health problem or disability. Our aim is to encourage participation amongst our community; whilst this is an initiative of the Tudor Supporters Club, anyone is welcome to participate (albeit we will subsidise the costs for our members).

There is compulsory use of the correct footwear as directed by Hemel FC for their new artificial surface – Football Boots with moulded plastic studs are preferred.  Please be aware that bladed boots of any description, metal studs, metal tipped studs and flat soled trainers are not permitted.
